| Diagnosis for Panama Banking Center presented |

That Panama has a great strength in international financial services and its main market is precisely Latin America, was one of the results of the Diagnosis for the Improvement of the Competitiveness of Panama´s International Bank Center, an event designated as “Competitive Streategy; from diagnosis to action in Panama Banking Center.” The activity was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF, in Spanish), the Superintendency of Panama´s Banks (SBP), the Panama Banking Association and the National Competitiveness Center. The study was made in year 2009, to include information that will allow SBP, the MEF and all the responsible of the economic policy and the public policies of the country, to take the right decisions towards a possible redesign of banking in Panama. Panama must position itself in the Latin American market, based on a strategy with a proposal of determined value for certain segments of the objective market. This will allow the country to take advantage of its strengths and face, in the best possible way, the opportunities that show up, points the study.
