| Panama: one of the most ecological countries |

According to the index “Actuación Medioambiental” 2010, presented at the World Forum in de Davos, Switzerland, the country is in the position number 24 , with 71.4 points out of a total of 100, with good management of its natural resources and pollution control. The daily points out that the report, which rates the environmental policies in the countries, places Costa Rica ahead in the Isthmus in Latin America, with 86.4 points, in the third place; Cuba, with 78.1, in the ninth place; Colombia with 76.8 in the tenth and Chile, with 73.3 in the 15th place. This shows that Panama is among the best five in environmental conservation in Latin America.
The index, executed by experts from the Yale and Columbia universities, placed in the first three positions: Iceland, Switzerland and Costa Rica, due to their investments in environmental structures, good air quality, water and biodiversity management.
