Vía España will be the carnival´s route

The Vía España is officially the route for the capital Carnival, announced  Salomón Shamah, administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP).

A note published in daily La Prensa, indicates that Shamah detailed that the festivities will take place from the Vía Brasil to the surroundings of the  hotel El Panamá.

The “culecos” (cistern trucks filled with water that go splashing people around) will start daily during the four days of  the party at 10:00 a.m.  He added also, that the night activities at the main stage and other places will finish by midnight.

Shamah indicated that the other alternative proposed as route for the carnival was the vía Justo Arosemena, but it was discarded for security reasons.

 


In this sense the official  stressed that the security issue played an important role in choosing the area of the festivities.

The carnivals will begin on Friday, February 12  at night and finish at dawn on Wednesday, February 17.
