Acobir seeks to regulate real estate brokers

Update the statutes of the guild, promote the revision of Decree Law 6 of July 8 1999 which regulates the profession of real estate agents, promoting the country internationally, are some of the goals of the re-elected president of the Association of Real Estate Brokers (Acobir), Osvaldo Marchena.


Marchena thinks that the modification and updating of the statutes of the guild is essential, which will allow the Association to grow according the XXI century’s demand.

"Members of the Board have been working on it and soon we will have a new version of bylaws for submission to approval," he said.

He said it also needs urgent moves to change the law regulating the Profession of Real Estate Brokers, seeking tighter controls on the illegal practice of the profession.

Ricardo Quijano, vice Commerce Minister said Acoba can count on government support to achieve that goal.

This year the promotion of the country brand will continue at fairs and events to be held in the United States, South America. Europe and the UAE; always seeking new markets and new customer’s interest and investors in the domestic supply.

Activities
The greatest event of ACOBIR’S Year will be “Real Estate Expo 2010', which will take place from March 10 to 14 in the Atlapa Convention Center.
It is designed under the concept "All Under One Roof '.

Marchena said that during this activity, customers can rent or buy new properties, resale or auction, projects, land, residential or commercial, located in the city, beach or mountain.


To complement this, a program of lectures, is been organized, with the intention for this to add value to the professionals interested in current issues related to the development of Real Estate.

Another major project for 2010 has to do with the initiative to create an Strategic Partnership with industry related organizations, which would have as an objective the promotion, development, sustainable growth and protection of the real estate industry of the country as one body.
